Flashback – Vacation to SPAIN

Good morning friends. Did you notice the wonderful Google logo yesterday??? It was to celebrate the great Catalan architect & designer Antoni Gaudi’s 161st Birthday. He continues to live in the heart of Catalans & in the eyes of visitors through his great work of art like Park Guell, Sagrada Familia Basillica, Casa Batllo & many more.

The logo just swept me back to my short vacation to Spain (Madrid & Barcelona). Neither I nor my husband is an experienced traveller. We have seen some parts of world but I guess it’s always planned to keep us comfortable. It was our 1st travel with our baby & we had our lessons to learn 🙂 We landed in Madrid & were guided by an airport staff. We had plans of hiring a cab however the plan changed because the person advised metro. Our hotel was located just opposite the Metro station. So we did. But it was not a good idea with our bags, our 8 month old baby & ofcourse his stroller. But i still feel happy about the whole thing because this short uncomfortable travel from airport to hotel made me taste the real beauty of this city. I am not speaking about how beautiful this city is…. I am talking about my experience with some wonderful people here. This city is about the most friendly, kids loving, helpful, pretty people. We couldn’t speak Catalan & they couldn’t speak English but seeing us walking up the stairs with bags, stroller, baby we hd so many helping hands around us. And yes… mostly women 🙂 They were just adorable. We booked some tours through Viator.com to look around the city. We had a good time but be prepared you may not get your own sweet time for photography or for that matter to wander around places you really liked. If you are staying longer its great to book tours to have a quick view of the must see places getting a little history & background that your tour operator provides & later go back on your own to your favourite spots for photography or just to chill around. Barcelona was as wonderful. We did not really have troubles with language here because we met many Indian friends who were happy to help. Also you will find people speaking and understanding English here. So all in all we really had a great short vacation. There is so much to explore in Spain that you could spend months here. So I eagerly look forward to explore the unexplored beauty.

Spain is a suppose to be heaven for food lovers but i regret not going all out tasting those wine and tapas as my son would be tired by the end of those tours and would want to get some sleep. So I am all set for another short vacation to Spain 😉 Hope Mr. Husband is reading this!!!
